One time I lost a feather a tear, a marble, a stone, a scar and I saw a star And I found a flower a stream, a sky, a cloud, a song and knew I could belong And I looked and I saw a tree, a bush, a deer, a pond because i grew fond Of the thin fingers the cheeks, the smile, the lips, the voice and I made my choice I took the sweetest music from a wind, a bee, a stream, a bird from a very tiny world And stole letters from a book oh, all the letters that I took! To write a word, a song, a reply to the star in your eye
